A fine rare set of four volumes by Anna Maria Porter, b1780-d1832 . She was the daughter of surgeon in the Irish army who died young, her mother struggeled to bring her, her sister & brother up but the girls became authors and the brother an artist of some note. Vol 1, 358 pp, vol 2 , 303pp, vol, 3, 303pp. vol 4, 320pp. All in lovely condition with tan leather spine and corners black title & vol label gilt tiltes, ruling & bands, boards a duck egg blue with tiny gold flecks. (Charming book plate in each volume of Margaret Rutledge Nee Bruen she was married to the Rev Francis Ruttledge rector of Kilmaine Co Mayo Ireland ) RARE.

A very rare copy in the original paper wraps first edition first printing, one small chip on front two signs of a tear across the hinge but not very noticable , trace of a signature in blue at top of cover, very faint rear board has some brown rust staining & bottom corner missing reducing back to 5 pages not effecting text, all that said a very good copy indeed and interior is very clean & almost fine. email for photo`s.
